Wolfgang Neuser (theologian)

Wolfgang Neuser (* 1951 in Siegen ) was rector of the YMCA University in Kassel until 2013 and was General Secretary of the Christian Association of Young People (YMCA) in Germany until April 2010 .

Life

The trained industrial clerk studied Protestant theology in Oberursel, Marburg, Mainz and Heidelberg. After 10 years as parish priest in Hilchenbach , he was director of the YMCA college in Kassel from 1991 to 2007 . In 1992, he graduated as Dr. phil. in the subject “ Protestant Theology and its Didactics ” and in 2002 obtained the degree of Master of Business Administration .

From October 2005 to April 2010, Neuser was Ulrich Parzany's successor in the office of General Secretary of the YMCA in Germany. From March 2009 on, he was general secretary of the YMCA Association as a part-time head of the YMCA University as the founding rector, and from May 2010 he assumed this position full-time, as well as the professorship for religious and community education. He retired on May 21, 2013.
