Wolfgang Nielsen (born March 1950 in Berlin ) is a German managing director who heads the non-profit aid organization "Wuppertaler Tafel" (authorized representative 1st board member of the AHK-Wuppertaler Tafel eV).

Life

Wolfgang Nielsen was born in Berlin in 1950 and came to Wuppertal in 1960 . After school he began training as an insurance salesman . In 1980, he began studying business administration at the German Employees Academy in Düsseldorf , which he successfully completed in 1984. He then ran a company.

In September 1988 he and a couple of friends, following his initiative, co-founded the Allgemeine Hilfskreis e. V. (AHK), who provided the needy with clothes and household items. The first location of the AHK was in Besenbruchstrasse, in 1993 the tenant moved to the municipal building Steinbeck 24. After the first German food bank was founded in Berlin in 1993 , it was decided at the beginning of 1995 to implement this idea in Wuppertal and use it as an additional To make AHK. Shortly afterwards, the board also became the main activity of the general aid group, followed by the renaming of the association to “AHK-Wuppertaler Tafel e. V. ". The Wuppertaler Tafel is one of the first ten of the more than 900 tables in Germany today.

As a result of a progressive accident-related illness, Nielsen took early retirement in the mid-1990s . Since then, he has devoted his voluntary work entirely to the needy. In 2000 Wolfgang Nielsen became the first chairman of the board. In May 2007, the board moved into new rooms at 50 Kleiner Werth in Wuppertal- Barmen .

In addition, Nielsen, who usually performs his task seven days a week, is also active nationwide in the Tafel movement. He is a member of the state and federal association Deutsche Tafel e. V.
