Wolfgang Ramlow (born September 5, 1954 in Bützow ) was a football player for FC Hansa Rostock , for whom he played between 1973 and 1975 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division of the GDR Football Association (DFV) . Ramlow is a multiple junior and junior national player of the DFV.

Ramlow began his career as a football player in his hometown with the company sports community (BSG) Lok Bützow. At the age of almost 15 the BSG Lok delegated him to the football focus of the region, the FC Hansa Rostock. Between 1971 and 1973 he was a member of the GDR junior national team, for which he played 30 international matches and scored four goals. He started there as a midfielder, but was later mainly used in defense. On June 10, 1973 he was in Florence with the junior selection in the final of the UEFA junior tournament , which the GDR lost to England 2-3 after extra time and thus became the unofficial junior European champions. Ramlow was seamlessly transferred to the U-21 youth national team, with whom he completed nine international matches from 1973 to 1975. There he was used exclusively as a defender and remained without a goal. In 1974 he graduated from high school and began studying medicine.

In the 1973/74 season Ramlow played his first games in the men's division of FC Hansa Rostock. After he had completed the first two point games as a defender of the 2nd team in the second-rate GDR league , he was also used in the 1st team from the 6th matchday of the Oberliga for the injured Vorstopper Peter Sykora . His first league game was the encounter between Hansa Rostock and SG Dynamo Dresden (2-0) on September 15, 1973. By the end of the season, the 1.83 m tall Ramlow had a total of 17 premier league appearances , played mainly in the pre-stopper position and scored three Gates. For the season 1974/75 Ramlow officially moved up to the 1st team and played all league games up to the 11th matchday. On the 11th match day he injured himself and was then able to play only five league games by the summer of 1975. Then he had to end his career as a competitive athlete on medical advice. In his short career, he had made 33 league games within two seasons, in which he scored four goals as a defender. He was also used in seven cup games in which he remained goalless.
