Wolfgang Schaffert

Wolfgang Schaffert (born June 7, 1955 ) is a German lawyer and a judge at the Federal Court of Justice since 2000 .

Life

Wolfgang Schaffert began his legal career in 1983 as a judge at the Nuremberg-Fürth Regional Court . In 1984 he was from the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg with a thesis on "monetary compensation for the impairment, vermögenskonsumtiver interests'?" The doctor of law doctorate . Two years with the public prosecutor followed . He was then seconded to the Federal Court of Justice as a research assistant for three years . In 1993 he became a judge at the Dresden Higher Regional Court , and in 1995 he became a group leader at the Nuremberg-Fürth public prosecutor's office. Three years later he was finally seconded to the Federal Constitutional Court as a research assistant and, while he was there, appointed judge at the Munich Higher Regional Court in 1999 . In April 2000 Schaffert was elected judge at the Federal Court of Justice and in September 2000 he took office. Since then he has been assigned to the First Civil Senate of the Federal Court of Justice , which deals with commercial legal protection and transport law.

Schaffert was given the title of " honorary professor ".
