Wolfgang Schlichthaber (born February 24, 1943 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

The goalkeeper Wolfgang Schlichthaber began his career with regional league team Arminia Bielefeld , where he was initially a reservist behind Friedhelm Renno . With the Bielefeld team he became Westphalia champion in 1962 and was promoted to the 2nd Division West , before Arminia qualified for the newly created Regionalliga West a year later . After Renno moved to Bayer 04 Leverkusen , Schlichthaber initially became a regular goalkeeper, but was ousted by Andreas Triebel a year later . After 48 regional league games for Bielefeld, he left Arminia in 1966 with an unknown destination.

After his active career, Schlichthaber became a coach and from 1989 looked after the TuS Paderborn-Neuhaus and in the 1993/94 season the SpVg Brakel .
