Wolfgang Schoberth

Wolfgang Schoberth (* 1958 in Erlangen ) is a German theologian.

Life

He studied sociology, theater studies and philosophy (MA) as well as Protestant theology in Erlangen and Göttingen . After graduation in 1986 to Dr. phil. with Joachim Matthes (sociology) he completed the teaching vicariate in Hemhofen from 1987 to 1990 . From 1990 to 1994 he was a research assistant to Hans G. Ulrich in Erlangen. After his habilitation in 1993 in Erlangen, he taught from 1994 to 2007 at the chair for Protestant Theology I (systematic theology and contemporary theological issues) at the University of Bayreuth . Since 2007 he has held the chair for systematic theology I (dogmatics) at the Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg .

His main focus is on anthropology , theological aesthetics, philosophical theology and research into contemporary religious culture.
