Wolfgang Schoene

Wolfgang Schoene (born July 20, 1926 in Berlin ; † October 18, 2006 ) was a German sociologist .

Life

He studied ethnology, psychology, sociology and anthropology in Berlin . From 1954 to 1958 he worked at the Institute for Ethnology and Social Psychology at the Free University of Berlin , where he was awarded a Dr. phil. received his doctorate. From 1963 to 1969, Schoene worked at the social research center at the University of Münster, which was founded in 1946 and based in Dortmund . He was in charge of the sociological journal Die Sozial Welt - journal for social science research and practice , then 1972–1977 co-editor of the journal for sociology , 1976–1993 of the journal Medizin, Mensch, Gesellschaft . After working as an academic councilor at Bielefeld University , he became full professor for sociology at the Westphalia-Lippe University of Education in Münster in 1971 . From 1974 to 1991 he taught as a professor at the chair for medical sociology at the University of Münster . The focus of his scientific work included social science aspects of psychoanalysis, cultural anthropological questions in sociology and medical sociology .
