Wolfgang Szaivert
Wolfgang Szaivert (born June 9, 1950 in Vienna ) is an Austrian numismatist .
Life
After graduating from high school in Vienna in 1968, he studied ancient history , classical archeology , prehistory and early history , art history and oriental studies at the University of Vienna from 1968 to 1975 . In 1971 he became a student assistant at the Institute for Ancient Numismatics and Pre-Islamic History of Central Asia with Robert Göbl . After receiving his doctorate in 1975 as Dr. phil. he was appointed university assistant. After completing his habilitation in 1984 with the license to teach numismatics, he was appointed university lecturer; In 1992 he was awarded the professional title of Associate University Professor . In 1997 he also received the official title of Associate University Professor . From 2010 to 2011 he was the head of the institute. He retired on February 29, 2012.
