Life

Wilke became the coach of Graciano Rocchigiani when he was 19 years old. Rocchigiani lived temporarily with his girlfriend at the time and later wife Christine at Wilke's as a sublet. In March 1988, the boxer was coached by Wilke to become world champion in the super middleweight division. In November 1989, Wilke brought the then GDR amateur boxer Henry Maske into the headlines when Wilke publicly speculated about a possible move Mask into professional business. Wilke also got into conversation as the coach of the amateur world champion. He didn't even know Wilke at the time, Mask said later, looking back.
