Wolfram Igor Derntl (* in Mauthausen ) is an Austrian opera singer with a tenor voice .

life and work

Derntl completed his singing studies at the Goethean Conservatory in Vienna with distinction. In 2004 he was engaged in the choir of the Vienna State Opera and subsequently also took on administrative activities for the State Opera Choir . Since then he has also been a member of the Wiener Hofmusikkapelle .

Solo engagements have taken him to the Vienna Volksoper , the Wiener Kammeroper , the Stadttheater St. Pölten , Klosterneuburg, Schwetzingen and the Vienna Burgtheater . His repertoire includes Tamino in the Magic Flute , Basilio and Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro , Pedrillo in The Abduction from the Seraglio , Barinkay in the Gypsy Baron , the Symon in the beggar student , Adam in the bird dealer and Alfred in the bat .

He has been engaged in a solo contract at Haus am Ring since 2009 and has since sang a wide range of smaller roles, such as Spoletta in Tosca , the Shepherd in Daphne , Tobby Higgins in the rise and fall of the city of Mahagonny , the Abdallo in Nabucco , den First Jew Salome (and the fourth Jew at the Japan guest performance of the State Opera), the Postillion in La fanciulla del West , the farmer in La fille du régiment , the steward of the Field Marshal in the Rosenkavalier , and the notary in the 2015 new production of Don Pasquale .
