Friedrich Ernst von Kardorff

Friedrich Ernst von Kardorff (born June 8, 1791 in Böhlendorf, municipality of Lindholz ; † May 3, 1867 ibid) was a German officer in the Danish service and landowner in Mecklenburg .

Life

Friedrich Ernst von Kardorff was the eldest son of August Nicolaus Carl von Kardorff and his wife Hedwig Sophie Margarethe, geb. von der Lühe (1771–1829), who in 1796 transferred the Böhlendorf estate she had inherited (municipality of Lindholz ) to her husband. He had two brothers: Wilhelm Carl (1792–1827), bailiff in Cismar and father of Wilhelm von Kardorff , who was born after his death , and Carl Emil von Kardorff (1795–1864), bailiff in Steinburg and from 1856 the last Danish landdrost in Ratzeburg .

When his father was reactivated in 1807 after the bombardment of Copenhagen (1807) , Friedrich Ernst von Kardorff also joined the Danish military as a lieutenant in the cavalry . He advanced to major .

After the father's death in 1820, the widow initially took over the Böhlendorf estate. In 1829 she died too, and the two sons inherited Böhlendorf. On May 21, 1829 Carl Emil von Kardorff sold his share to his brother, and Friedrich Ernst von Kardorff took possession of Böhlendorf on June 9, 1829. In 1830 he left the military and devoted himself entirely to the estate.

On September 4, 1830 he married Juliane Sophie Komtesse Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs (born April 18, 1811 in Søbygård ; † January 27, 1899 in Dolgen (Millienhagen-Oebelitz)), daughter of Count Jens Christian Carl Krag-Juel- Vind-Frijs and Henriette Friederike Magdalene, b. Countess of Innhausen and Knyphausen and sister of Christian Emil Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs .

Radolf von Kardorff was his grandson.

On April 22, 1864, he set up a family entrepre- neurship for Böhlendorf with accessories.
