Christian Emil Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs

Christian Emil Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs , Lehnsgraf zu Frijsenborg, (born December 8, 1817 at Frijsenborg Castle ; † October 12, 1896 at Boller Castle near Horsens ) was a Danish statesman.

His parents were Jens Christian Krag-Juel-Vind-Friis (* February 12, 1779 - November 12, 1860) and his wife Henriette Friederike Magdalene zu Innhausen and Knyphausen (* January 29, 1791 - November 5, 1866).

Life

Christian Emil Krag-Juel-Vind-Frijs, from an old and wealthy family, was elected a member of the Reichsrat in 1858 . When he had formed his new ministry on November 6, 1865, all his efforts were aimed at a successful end to the constitutional struggle and a definitive order of internal constitutional conditions.

He achieved this goal without hesitation. In the great reform work of the following years Frijs participated with his own zeal and the most insightful perseverance. In 1870, he and his ministry resigned. Frijs needed rest after five exhausting years of struggle and restless work. Since then, Frijs lived on his estate in Jutland and only occasionally took on a diplomatic mission on behalf of the king.

He married Thyra Valborg Haffner on May 1, 1847 (* July 24, 1821 - March 1, 1881). The couple had several children:
