Laust Moltesen (born November 18, 1865 in Råhede , † October 25, 1950 in Ordrup ) was a Danish historian and foreign minister .

Life

Moltesen came to Copenhagen at the age of 14 and graduated from school in 1883. In 1888 Moltesen finished his studies as cand.teol. and once again occupied himself with issues of church history that had already occupied him during his student days. In 1896, with his disputation De avignonske Pavers Forhold til Danmark, he was awarded Dr. phil is doing his doctorate. In 1904 he published the first volume of the Acta pontificum Danica series , which was continued by Alfred Krarup and completed in 1943. The volume edited by Moltesen contains papal documents from 1316 to 1378, the entire series ends in 1536. After that he was the editor of various magazines, 1890 to 1895 for Dansk Kirketidende , 1898 to 1906 for Dansk Tidsskrift and then until 1907 for the subsequent Gads danske magazine Magasin . His main occupation was as a teacher for Brock'ske handelsskole and Zahles skole. From 1913 to 1926 and from 1929 to 1942 he was the supervisor of the state colleges and agricultural schools.

On December 14, 1926, Moltesen replaced Carl Poul Oscar Graf Moltke as Foreign Minister and headed the Foreign Ministry for the Madsen-Mygdal cabinet until April 30, 1929, when he was replaced by Peter Rochegune Munch .
