Jeppe Kofod
Jeppe Kofod (born March 14, 1974 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish politician of the Social Democrats and Danish Foreign Minister since June 27, 2019 .
Life
Since 1998 Kofod has been a member of the Danish parliament, the Folketing . Kofod has been a member of the European Parliament since 2014 . There he was Vice-Chair of the Delegation for Relations with the United States and a member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy . In 2019 he was re-elected to the European Parliament, but could not take up his mandate because he had previously been appointed Danish Foreign Minister.
controversy
At Easter 2008 it became publicly known that the then 34-year-old politician had had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old during a meeting of the Young Social Democrats. Subsequently, Jeppe Kofod had to resign as his party's foreign policy spokesman.
