Gordan Grlić Radman (born June 6, 1958 in Prisoje , Općina Tomislavgrad , Federal People's Republic of Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian diplomat . He was the extraordinary and plenipotentiary ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Federal Republic of Germany . He has been Foreign Minister of the Republic of Croatia since July 19, 2019 .

biography

Gordan Grlić Radman started his business career in Switzerland in 1982 . Grlic-Radman started his diplomatic career in the same country in the early 1990s when he returned to Switzerland as an official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Zagreb , with the homework of setting up the Croatian diplomatic-consular networks in Bern , Geneva and Zurich . Grlić gained diplomatic experience in the Croatian diplomatic missions in Sofia and Budapest . His last mandate was that of the Croatian ambassador to Hungary .

education

He completed the two-year management school in Bern (IfKS) and is an active member of the Swiss Association of Engineers and the “Alumni” Zurich. Grlić Radman is a co-founder of the non-governmental organization or association Croatian Swiss Business Consult. In Croatia he obtained an additional education at the end of the 1990s: Gordan graduated from the Faculty of Political Science in 2002 and received his doctorate in 2007.

Gordan Grlić Radman speaks Croatian , German , English , Bulgarian and Hungarian . He bears the title of dipl. ing. agr. oec.

Time as an ambassador

On October 16, 2017, Grlić Radman presented Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier with the credentials . The ceremony took place in Bellevue Palace with military honors. Following the ceremony, Federal President Steinmeier and Ambassador Grlić Radman discussed various aspects of German-Croatian relations, the situation in the European Union and in Croatia's neighborhood.

Gordan Grlić Radman succeeded Ranko Vilović as the seventh ambassador of the Republic of Croatia to the Federal Republic.
