Ludwig (Ludvig) Nicolaus von Scheele (born October 14, 1796 in Itzehoe as von Scheel , † January 1, 1874 in Copenhagen ) was a German-Danish lawyer and politician. He served the Danish Kingdom as Foreign Minister and Minister for Holstein and Lauenburg, among other things .

Life

Scheele came from the German-Danish officer family Scheel and grew up in Itzehoe, Uetersen and Rendsburg . His father was the officer and chamberlain Benedictus Ferdinand Scheel (1749-1827), his mother was his wife Martha Charlotte Elisabeth, née Wiebel (1760-1837). On June 22, 1827, Scheel married Sarah Margarethe Markoe (1806–1876), daughter of the plantation owner Peter Abraham Markoe.

From 1813 to 1815 Scheele went to high school in Hamburg and became a student in Kiel in 1816 , in 1817 in Göttingen , in 1818 in Heidelberg . In Göttingen he became a member of the Corps Vandalia Göttingen. In 1827 he became bailiff of Hütten and in 1831 of Gottorf, was president of the Schleswig-Holstein government from 1846 to 1848 and from 1852 to 1863 he was the last Danish landlord of the Pinneberg rule . From December 12, 1854 to April 17, 1857 Scheele was Minister for Holstein and Lauenburg, from January 18, 1855 to April 17, 1857 Foreign Minister in the Andræ cabinet . Ove Wilhelm Michelsen followed him as Foreign Minister, and Carl Lundbye as Minister for Holstein and Lauenburg . Until 1855 he called himself "von Scheel".

From 1861 to 1864 Scheel was the Royal Danish President in Altona .

In 1822 Scheele was appointed chamberlain and in 1829 chamberlain. In 1848 he became secret conference councilor, in 1857 vice chancellor of the order, in 1831 secret state minister, in 1840 Dannebrogsman , in 1845 commander of the Dannebrog Order, whose Grand Cross he received in 1857. In 1854 Scheel received the Elephant Order .
