Anders Samuelsen (born August 1, 1967 in Horsens ) is a Danish politician and member of the Folketing for the Liberal Alliance party . From November 28, 2016 to June 27, 2019 he was Denmark's Foreign Minister .
Career
Anders Samuelsens is the son of Anna Holm and Ole Samuelsen, who was a member of parliament for the liberal radical Venstre party from 1968 to 1973 .
In 1993 Samuelsen received a Masters in Political Science from Aarhus University . He was initially employed in the Ministry of Finance. From 1994 to 1998 he worked as a consultant and department head at the Castberggård school for the deaf. Since 2003 he has been President of the Association of Voluntary Rescue Services.

During the period from 1998 to 2004 he was a member of the Folketing for Radical Venstre . Then he moved to the European Parliament. On May 7, 2007 Samuelsen founded the liberal-conservative party Ny Alliance (New Alliance) together with MEP Gitte Seeberg and the Folketing member Naser Khader . Since November 13, 2007 Samuelsen has represented the party in the Folketing as a member of parliament. On August 27, 2008, the party changed its name to Liberal Alliance . After turbulent early years, Samuelsen became the undisputed front man of the now neoliberal party.
Since November 28, 2016, Samuelsen has been Foreign Minister in the Lars Løkke Rasmussen II government .
