Peter Rochegune Munch
Peter Rochegune Munch (born July 25, 1870 in Redsted , † January 12, 1948 in Copenhagen ) was a Danish historian and politician from Det Radliche Venstre .
Life
Munch came from a large farming family from North Jutland. After a career as a historian, he was elected to the Folketing for Det RadISCHE Venstre . He was a member of the Folketing for Langeland from 1909 to 1945 . From October 28, 1909 to July 5, 1910 he was Minister of the Interior in the Zahle I cabinet . From June 21, 1913 to March 30, 1920 he was Minister of Defense, Cabinet Zahle II . From April 30, 1929 to July 8, 1940, Munch served as Foreign Minister in the Stauning II , III , IV , V and VI cabinets . During his tenure as Foreign Minister he tried to maintain neutrality and independence from the German Reich under Adolf Hitler .
