Carl Theodor Zahle

The Zahle I government was formed as a minority government in Denmark on October 28, 1909 by Carl Theodor Zahle from Det Radikalische Venstre and replaced the Holstein-Ledreborg government from Venstre . She was in office until July 5, 1910 and was then replaced by the Berntsen government of Venstre.

After the adoption of the Defense Order (Forsvarsforliget) on October 18, 1909, which led to the construction of various fortifications and barracks, and the addition of the Army Act (Hærloven) , which was passed on September 30, 1909 and a reorganization of the army organization, Defense Minister Jens Christian Christensen was resigned. The latter had supported the new regulations through a compromise with Det Radikalische Venstre (RV) of Carl Theodor Zahle, while Prime Minister Holstein-Ledreborg rejected them. This was followed by a vote of no confidence , from which the RV emerged victorious and the Holstein-Ledreborg government resigned on October 28, 1909. Zahle then formed its own minority government, which after the last elections for the Folketing on May 25, 1909, had 18 of the 114 seats in parliament.

In the following elections for the Folketing on May 20, 1910, the Venstrereformpartiet and the Det Moderate Venstre came up again as a common party under the name Venstre and became the strongest party.
