March Ministry (Denmark)

The March Ministry ( Danish : Martsministeriet ) or Government Moltke I was the government of Denmark from March 22, 1848 to November 16, 1848.

Previously, there was only a collegiate system when absolutist king , but by the events of the March revolution which could National Liberals also prevail in Denmark and enforce a form of government in which it (Dan. Responsible ministers and a prime minister Statsminister ) today. The government itself consisted of both national liberals and conservative supporters of the state.

The March government commissioned its minister of education, Ditlev Gothard Monrad, to draft the Danish Basic Law , which came into force on June 5, 1849 and, with some changes, is still in force today. Therefore the March Ministry was the first real government of Denmark in a continuity until today.
