After the resignation of the government of Poul Schlueter IV , Poul Nyrup Rasmussen was entrusted with the formation of a new Danish government. Acting queen was Margrethe II.

The Cabinet Poul Nyrup Rasmussen I joined four parties: the Social Democrats (S), Center Democrats (CD), Radical Venstre (RV) and Christian People's Party (KrF). It was in office from January 25, 1993 to September 27, 1994.
