The seat of the ministry

Miljø- og Fødevareministeriet has been the Ministry of Environment and Food for the Kingdom of Denmark since 2015 . Its headquarters are at 12 Slotsholmsgade in Copenhagen . The current environment minister is Lea Wermelin , food minister is Mogens Jensen .

The ministry's layout was last changed on June 28, 2015 by merging the Ministry of the Environment and the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Fisheries . The area of ​​responsibility includes environmental and nature conservation, forestry, nutrition and food safety, as well as land and water surveying.

The ministry is divided into four authorities:

• Miljøstyrelsen (German environmental authority): nature conservation and management, water supply and quality assurance, groundwater mapping
• Fødevarestyrelsen (Food Authority ): food quality and safety, consumer protection
• Landbrugsstyrelsen (Agriculture Authority )
• Naturstyrelsen (nature authority): Forests and other natural areas, renaturation, hunting
  • Kystdirektoratet (Coastal Office): Coastal protection including placing coastal dunes under protection , exercising sovereign rights over territorial waters , surveying, combating marine pollution

There is also the “Madkulturen” foundation, which aims to improve the population's eating habits and cooking skills.

Henrik Studsgaard is the head of the authority .
