from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Skatteministeriet is the tax ministry of the Kingdom of Denmark . It is based at Nicolai Eigtveds Gade 28 in the capital Copenhagen and has been headed by Morten Bødskov ( Social Democrat ) in the Frederiksen cabinet since June 27, 2019 .

history

In 1902 the General Directorate for Customs and a Tax Department, which was supposed to handle direct taxation, were founded.

In the years after the State Tax Act of 1903 and the Customs Act of 1908, the state found that taxation and customs were its real domain and so the General Directorate was subordinated to the ministerial departments. Therefore, in 1919 the General Directorate was renamed the Department of Customs and Excise Duties, which is why there were two departments.

Until February 13, 1975, the tax and customs departments belonged to the finance ministry, then the tax and duty ministry ( Skatte- og Afgiftsministeriet ) was founded, from 1987 it was only called the tax ministry.
