NGC 7199 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBa in the constellation Indians in the southern sky . It is an estimated 124 million light years from the Milky Way and about 40,000 light years in diameter.
In the same area of the sky are u. a. the galaxies NGC 7191 , NGC 7192 , IC 5165 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on June 22, 1835 .
