NGC 7209 is an open cluster of Trumpler type III1p in the constellation Lizard on the northern sky . It is about 3,800 light years away from the solar system, with a diameter of about 28 light years. NGC 7209 has an angular diameter of 25 arc minutes and a brightness of +7.70 mag.
The object was discovered by William Herschel on November 17, 1788 .
