NGC 7196 is an elliptical galaxy of Hubble type E2 in the constellation of Indians on the southern sky . It is estimated to be 129 million light years away from the Milky Way and has a diameter of about 95,000 ly.
In the same area of the sky is the galaxy NGC 7200 .
The object was discovered by John Herschel on October 2, 1834 .
