NGC 7217 is an annular spiral galaxy with an active nucleus of the Hubble-type Sab in the constellation Pegasus in the northern sky . It is estimated to be 52 million light years from the Milky Way and about 45,000 ly in diameter.
The object was discovered on September 7, 1784 by the German-British astronomer Wilhelm Herschel .
