NGC 7222 is a barred spiral galaxy of the Hubble type SBb in the constellation Aquarius on the ecliptic . It is estimated to be 562 million light years away from the Milky Way and about 200,000 light years in diameter.
The Type Ia supernova SN 2008dr was observed here.
The object was discovered by Albert Marth on August 11, 1864 .
