Forsvarsministeriet
The Forsvarsministeriet is the Ministry of Defense of the Kingdom of Denmark . The Forsvarsministeriet is based on the Holmens Canal in the capital Copenhagen and has been headed by Trine Bramsen ( Socialdemokraterne ) in the Frederiksen cabinet since June 27, 2019 . The ministry employs around 2,000 people.
The post of Minister of Defense had been in existence since 1905, but it was not until May 27, 1950 that the Ministries for Navy and War were merged to form the Ministry of Defense.

The Ministry is divided into the following areas:
- Værnsfælles Forsvarskommando ("Joint Defense Command")
- Hjemmeværnskommandoen ("Heimwehr Command")
- Beredskabsstyrelsen ("standby administration")
- Forsvarets Efterretningstjeneste ("Defense Intelligence Service")
- Forsvarsministeriets Materiel- og Indkøbsstyrelse ("Material and Purchasing Administration of the Ministry of Defense")
- Forsvarsministeriets Personalestyrelse ("Ministry of Defense Personnel Administration")
- Forsvarsministeriets Ejendomsstyrelse ("Ministry of Defense Property Management ")
- Forsvarsministeriets Regnskabsstyrelse ("Ministry of Defense Finance Administration")
- Forsvarsministeriets Internal Audit ("Internal Audit of the Ministry of Defense")
- Forsvarets Auditørkorps ("Defense Auditor Corps ")
In addition, the Ertholmene report directly to the Ministry of Defense.
