Søren Gade
Søren Gade (born January 27, 1963 in Holstebro ) is a Danish politician ( Venstre ).
Life
Søren Gade initially embarked on a military career and after retiring from active service worked in marketing. He was a member of the Folketing from 2001, and from 2004 to 2010 he was Danish Defense Minister . On February 23, 2010, he left this office and was replaced by Gitte Lillelund Bech .
From May 7, 2012 until the end of 2014, he worked as managing director of the Danish agricultural interest group, Landbrug og Fødevarer . He is a member of the European Leadership Network .
In the run-up to the 2015 Folketing election , he announced his return to politics. He achieved a seat in parliament with 28,916 preferential votes in Nordjyllands Storkreds . Lars Løkke Rasmussen did not appoint him to his cabinet, contrary to what many expected, but proposed him for the parliamentary group chairmanship in the Folketing .
Søren Gade is widowed and has two daughters.
