The European Leadership Network (ELN) is a network founded in March 2011 with the aim of creating conditions for a peaceful future free of nuclear weapons.

The ELN operates as an impartial, non-profit organization based in London. The members are former prime ministers, foreign ministers, defense ministers as well as experienced diplomatic, military and scientific personalities from Europe, Russia and Turkey.

Actions

Ukraine crisis

In July 2014, against the background of the Ukraine crisis , the European Leadership Network issued a position paper warning against an “accidental war” between Russia and the West. "Communication and mutual transparency between the military should be improved in order to avoid accidental clashes."

The "Task Force for Cooperation in Greater Europe" is developing proposals with the aim of making it easier for all countries in the region to break resolutely with the costly legacy of the Cold War and to deal effectively with the new political, economic and security challenges of the 21st century Focus on the century.
