Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet

The Uddannelses- og Forskningsministeriet ( "Training and Research Ministry"), the Danish Ministry of Research. It is located at 10 Slotsholmsgade in the center of Copenhagen . One of its tasks is to ensure that companies and university research and education work together; secondly, to coordinate the government's economic and innovation policy; and thirdly, to supervise the subordinate institutions, as if there were universities, commercial colleges, research centers and the Danish foreign institutes. The Council for Scientific Dishonesty has been subordinate to the Ministry since July 2017 .

The ministry has had its current name since February 3, 2014 and has been headed by Ane Halsboe-Jørgensen ( Socialdemokraterne ) since June 27, 2019 .

history

The ministry was established when the government of Poul Nyrup Rasmussen took office in January 1993 as the Ministry of Research and Technology (Forsknings- og Teknologiministeriet) . As early as 1994 the name was shortened to Ministry of Research. In 2000 the name was changed to Ministry of Information Technology and Research (IT- og Forskningsministeriet) . In 2001, the name Ministry for Science, Technology and Development (Ministeriet for Videnskab, Teknologi og Udvikling) followed .

The area of ​​responsibility was expanded in 2001 to include universities, private-sector research, and technology and innovation policy. In 2011, higher education in the arts and seafaring was added.
