Kristian Jensen (born May 21, 1971 in Middelfart ) is a Danish politician of the Venstre party . He held the ministerial posts for taxes , foreign affairs and finance .

Life

Kristian Jensen trained as a bank clerk from 1991 to 1993 at Unibank and worked there until 1998. In 1993 he became a member of the National Committee of Young Liberals, the youth organization of the Venstre party, led the organization from 1995 to 1997 and was a member of the Venstre party executive from 1995 to 1998 and since 2004.

From March 11, 1998 to November 13, 2007, Jensen was a member of the Ringkøbing local council , and since November 13, 2007 he has been a member of the Folketing as a member of West Jutland . From August 2, 2004 to February 23, 2010, he was Minister of Taxation and from June 28, 2015 to November 28, 2016, Foreign Minister of Denmark and Deputy Head of Government. From November 28, 2016 to June 27, 2019, he was Minister of Finance. On January 12, 2020, Venstre announced in a press release that Jensen had been released from his post as Arctic Policy spokesman and from all of his committee posts because he had called for bipartisan work on an economic reform package.

Private

Jensen is married and has three sons.
