Mihály Varga

Mihály Varga (born January 26, 1965 in Karcag ) is a Hungarian politician of Fidesz - Hungarian Citizens' Union .

Life

Varga studied economics at the Corvinus University Budapest . In 1988 he became a member of Fidesz - Hungarian Citizens' Union. He has been a member of the Hungarian Parliament since 1990 . From January 1, 2001 to May 27, 2002 he was Minister of Finance. From 2005 to 2003 he was vice chairman of the party. In the Orbán II cabinet he was head of the state chancellery until May 19, 2012. In the Orbán III cabinet , he has been finance minister again since March 2013, succeeding György Matolcsy .
