György Matolcsy

György Matolcsy (born July 18, 1955 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian politician of Fidesz - Hungarian Citizens' Union .

Life

Matolcsy studied economics at the Corvinus University Budapest . From January 1, 2000 to May 27, 2002, Matolcsy was the successor of Attila Chikán as Minister of Economic Affairs of Hungary in the Orbán I cabinet . He was succeeded by István Csillag as Minister of Economic Affairs in 2002 . From May 2010, Matolcsy was again Minister of Economic Affairs of Hungary in the Orbán II cabinet . He has been the governor of the Hungarian Central Bank since April 2013 . As an economist, he has written several books.
