Andrushivka (Ukrainian Андрушівка ; Russian Андрушёвка / Andruschjowka , Polish Andruszówka ) is a city in the Oblast Zhytomyr in Ukraine on the river Huiva , about 36 kilometers southeast of the Oblasthauptstadt Zhytomyr area.

The place was mentioned in writing for the first time in 1683, until 1793 what was then Andruszówka was under Polish rule, was in the Kiev Voivodeship and from 1797 came under Russian rule to the Kiev Governorate . Since 1859, the place was called Andruschowka (Андрушовка). During the Second World War , Andruschiwka was occupied by Germans from July 10, 1941 to December 27, 1943. 460 inhabitants of the city were tortured and murdered under German occupation, including 216 children and 84 old men. 84 people were deported to the German Reich for forced labor. The ghetto established by the Germans was liquidated in May 1942; 220 of its Jewish residents were shot near the city hospital. Andrushivka was retaken by Soviet troops on December 27, 1943. In 1975 the village, until then an urban-type settlement , received its current name together with the award of town status. An asteroid discovered by the Andrushivka Observatory on September 18, 2003 was named Andrushivka in honor of the city (133293) .
