Dowbysch ( Ukrainian Довбиш ; Russian Довбыш , Polish Dowbyszów ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Zhytomyr with around 4200 inhabitants (2019).
Dowbysch was founded in 1569 and received urban-type settlement status in 1938. Between 1927 and 1939 the place was called after the Polish politician Julian Balthasar Marchlewski Marchlewsk and between 1939 and 1941 it was called Schorsk . Dowbysch is the administrative center of the settlement council of the same name, to which the village Adamivka ( Адамівка ) with about 15 inhabitants belongs. There has been a porcelain factory in the village since 1823.
Dowbysch located in the east of Rajon Baranivka on the territorial road T-06-18 58 km northwest of the Oblastzentrum Zhytomyr and 40 km northeast from Rajonzentrum Baranivka .
