Jemiltschyne ( Ukrainian Ємільчине ; Russian Емильчино Jemiltschino , Polish Emilczyn ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Zhytomyr and the administrative center of the raion of the same name with about 6,500 inhabitants (2019).

The place was first mentioned in writing in 1585 and in 1957 received the status of an urban-type settlement.
geography
Jemiltschyne is located on the Ubort , a tributary of the Pripyat 64 km west of Korosten and 122 km northwest of the Oblast center Zhytomyr . Territorial road T-06-05 runs through the village .
In addition to Jemiltschyne, the settlement council also includes the villages of Horbowe ( Горбове ), Sdorowez ( Здоровець ) and Rudenka ( Руденька ).
Rajon
Jemiltschyne Rajon , founded in 1923 and the administrative center of which is the village, is located in the north-west of Zhytomyr Oblast. It has an area of 2112 km² and about 34,000 inhabitants. The population density is 17 people per km².
