Butschmany

Butschmany ( Ukrainian Бучмани ; Russian Бучманы ) is an urban-type settlement in the Ukrainian Oblast of Zhytomyr with about 750 inhabitants (2017).

The village in the southeast of Olevsk Raion was founded in 1947 and received urban-type settlement status in 1983. It was the only village in the settlement council of the same name until 2016, since then it has belonged to the rural community of Bilokorowytschi (Білокоровицька сільська громада).

The settlement's largest employer is a peat processing factory.

Butschmany is located about 130 km northwest of the Oblast center Zhytomyr and 35 km southeast of the Rajon center Olevsk . The M 07 / E 373 trunk road runs north of the village .
