Ruzhyn ( Ukrainian Ружин ; Russian Ружин Ruschin , polish Różyn ) is an urban-type in the Ukrainian oblast Schytomyr with about 4,600 inhabitants (2018).
Ruzhyn is the administrative center of the same name Rajons south of the Oblast Zhytomyr and capital of the same name, 84.51 km² municipal council community, nor the village to the Saritschtschja ( Заріччя , ⊙ ) is one with about 2100 inhabitants.
Geographical location
Rushyn is located at an altitude of 214 m on the bank of the Rostavytsja ( Роставиця ), a 116 km long left tributary of the Ros , 81 km southeast of the Oblast center Zhytomyr and about 75 km southwest of the next larger city Fastiv . The regional road P-32 and the territorial road T-06-06 intersect in the settlement .
history
The village has been known since the end of the 15th century and came under the rule of the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania in 1569, together with right-wing Ukraine . In 1793 right-bank Ukraine fell to the Russian Empire and was annexed to the Kiev governorate . At that time the place had 750 inhabitants. From July 16, 1941 to December 28, 1943, Ruschyn was occupied by the Wehrmacht . The town received urban-type settlement status in 1962.
