Peter Kažimír

Peter Kažimír (born June 28, 1968 in Košice ) has been Governor of the National Bank of Slovakia since June 1, 2019 . Before that he was a Slovak politician .

Kažimír graduated from the Faculty of International Relations of the Bratislava University of Economics . From 1993 to 2006 he worked in various positions in private companies in Slovakia and the Czech Republic . In the parliamentary elections in 2006 , 2010 and 2012 , he was a member of the National Council .

At the time of the first Fico government, he was State Secretary at the Slovak Ministry of Finance. He is also the deputy chairman of the SMER as well as the vice-prime minister and minister of finance of the second Fico government formed on April 4, 2012 after the 2012 elections.
