Vladislav Goranov

Vladislav Goranow (born April 30, 1977 in Pleven ) is a Bulgarian politician of the GERB and finance minister.

Life

Goranov studied economics at the Tsenov Business Academy Swishtov and obtained a master's degree in accounting and controlling. From 1998 to 2001 he worked in the Department of Extra-Budgetary Accounts and Funds and headed the Financial Policy Directorate in the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Agrarian Reforms. In 2001 he moved to the Ministry of Finance, where he headed the department for social expenditure.

From August 2009 to April 2013, he held the post of Deputy Minister of Finance. From May 2013 to February 2014 he was Managing Director and a member of the Board of Directors of Municipal Bank. He was also a member of the Bulgarian National Assembly from May 2013 to February 2014. He became Minister of Finance in November 2014 and was in office until February 2017. He has been Finance Minister again since May 2017.
