Naturstyrelsen ( German  nature authority ) is an authority of the Danish Ministry of the Environment , which employs 700 people. 85 of them are employed at the head office in Randbøl , around 90 in the coastal administration in Lemvig and the rest in 17 nature administration offices in the rest of the country. The authority, which was founded on January 1, 2011, was created by amalgamating the Skov- og Naturstyrelsen (forest and nature authority) and the By- og Landskabsstyrelsen (city and landscape authority). In addition to nature and landscape protection , their tasks also include the implementation of nature and environmental policy according to government guidelines. It also ensures that the population is supplied with clean drinking water and is informed about environmental protection issues. The operation and administration of the Danish state forest areas are also under their care .
