Government of Lars Løkke Rasmussen I
The government of Lars Løkke Rasmussen ( Danish regeringen Lars Løkke Rasmussen I ) under Prime Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen was the Danish government from April 5, 2009 to October 3, 2011. It consisted of the right-wing Venstre and the Conservative People's Party . Acting queen was Margrethe II.
Lars Løkke Rasmussen takes office
The previous head of government, Anders Fogh Rasmussen , had previously been designated for the post of NATO Secretary General . His coalition of right-wing liberals and conservatives, which had existed since 2001, tolerated the right-wing populist Dansk Folkeparti , was continued. There were only a few personnel changes compared to the previous cabinet : the previous Labor Minister Claus Hjort Frederiksen became Lars Løkke Rasmussen's successor in the office of Finance Minister, Venstres political spokeswoman Inger Støjberg joined the government, while the controversial Welfare Minister Karen Jespersen left it. The ministry that was newly tailored for them was dissolved and its competencies were distributed to the Ministry of the Interior and Social Affairs under Karen Ellemann and the Ministry of Labor.
Government reshuffle in 2010
An extensive ministerial rochade took place on February 23, 2010 . Compared to the Anders Fogh Rasmussen III cabinet , only one minister ( Birthe Rønn Hornbech ) occupied the same post. At the same time, Lars Løkke Rasmussen presented a new work program entitled "Danmark 2020". The Prime Minister was keen to give government work a new dynamic and to set himself apart from the political legacy of his predecessor. He therefore spoke of a new government, Løkke Rasmussen II, which, however, was not the reformed cabinet in the formal sense.
Further changes
Personnel quarrels in the Conservative People's Party forced Lene Espersen to resign as party leader on January 14, 2011 . Her successor, Justice Minister Lars Barfoed, moved up to become Deputy Prime Minister in the cabinet.
On March 8, 2011, Birthe Rønn Hornbech was released after it became known that the Ministry of Integration had illegally thwarted the naturalization of stateless Palestinians with her knowledge.
After the Løkke Rasmussen government had lost its parliamentary majority in the 2011 Folketing election, it was replaced by the Helle Thorning-Schmidt I government on October 3, 2011 .
