Charlotte Sahl-Madsen (born August 26, 1964 in Holstebro ) is a Danish politician of the Conservative People's Party . She was Minister for Science, Technology and Research from February 23, 2010 to October 3, 2011 .

Life

After graduating from high school in Holstebro in 1983, Sahl-Madsen began studying law at Aarhus University in 1985 , which she broke off. This made her the first female science minister without a university degree. She headed the Glass Museum in Ebeltoft for ten years . From 2002 to 2004 she worked as a director at Lego in Billund and was then director of the Danfoss Universe amusement park on Als until 2010 . She lives childless and unmarried in Höruphaff .

In the 2011 Folketing election , the Conservatives suffered a severe defeat and their parliamentary group was reduced from 18 to eight seats. Sahl-Madsen, who ran for a seat in the Danish parliament for the first time in the constituency of South Jutland, was unable to prevail against fellow party member Mike Legarth, who won the only mandate for the Conservatives in southern Denmark. On May 15, 2012, Charlotte Sahl-Madsen was appointed CEO of the media group Syddanske Medier . She has also been the director of the newly founded Kunsthalle in Sønderborg since December 1, 2011 .
