The government of Thorning-Schmidt I under Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt was the government of Denmark from October 3, 2011 to February 3, 2014 . It was formed from the Social Democrats (S), Social Liberals (R) and the Socialist People's Party (SF) following the 2011 Folk Election and replaced the center-right government of Lars Løkke Rasmussen . The Social Democrat Helle Thorning-Schmidt was the first woman to head a Danish cabinet.

It was a minority government , supported by the unit list and North Atlantic MPs. The Social Democrats had ten ministers, while social liberals and socialists had six ministers each. The Minister for Trade and Investment, the Minister for Europe and the Minister for Development were assigned to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as was the Nordic Cooperation department. The number of Danish line ministries was 19 plus the State Chancellery.

On August 9, 2013, the trade was assigned to the European department at a ministerial rochade and on December 12, 2013 another four ministerial posts were relocated. The former SF chairman Villy Søvndal left politics for health reasons.

After a smoldering government crisis, the SF left the government on January 30, 2014, but assured the Prime Minister of her continued parliamentary support. On February 3, 2014, the successor government Helle Thorning-Schmidt II was appointed.
