During this time, the DKP was supported by the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (CPSU) with a total of 5.2 million Danish kroner . In 1987 and 1989 he ran unsuccessfully for the first time for the Folketing for the DKP in the constituency of Århus Øst- og Nordkreds and then until 1991 for the Enhedslisten - de rød-grønne (EL) in the constituency of Glostrup- og Rødovrekreds . Just four days later, he was replaced by the new SF chairwoman, Annette Vilhelmsen . After the chaotic upheavals within the SF in early 2014, he joined the Social Democrats. Most recently, he advocated wage restraint on the part of workers for ten years and a waiver of tax increases for Danish companies in order to strengthen their international competitiveness and secure jobs.
