Annette Vilhelmsen (born October 24, 1959 in Svendborg ) is a Danish politician of the Socialistik Folkeparti (Socialist People's Party ).

Life

Annette Vilhelmsen worked as a teacher from 1983 to 2001. Since 2001 she has been a councilor in Kerteminde . After the 2011 Folketing election , she moved into the Folketing . When Villy Søvndal resigned from the party chairmanship in September 2012, she announced her candidacy. On October 13, 2012 she was elected as the new chairman of the SF in a membership decision. Your competitor Astrid Krag received only a third of the votes.

On October 16, 2012, she joined the Thorning-Schmidt I cabinet as Minister of Industry and Growth . In order to raise the social profile of her party in public, she moved to the Ministry of Social Affairs on August 9, 2013. The government crisis surrounding the sale of the energy company Dong Energy led to her resignation from the party chairmanship on January 30, 2014, and ended SF's participation in the government. With support from the opposition, the government planned to sell 19 percent of the company to the American bank Goldman Sachs , while over 200,000 Danes signed an online petition.

In the 2015 Folketing election , she was unable to move into parliament again because, after preferential votes, she was defeated by Karsten Hønge , who was one of the sharp critics of the dong sale.

Annette Vilhelmsen is married and has two children.
