The government of Thorning-Schmidt II under Prime Minister Helle Thorning-Schmidt formed the government of Denmark from February 3, 2014 to June 28, 2015 . It consisted of social democrats (S) and social liberals (R). The Socialist People's Party (SF) had previously left the existing coalition on January 30, 2014 .
It was a minority government supported by the SF, the Unity List , three North Atlantic MPs and one non-attached MP. The social democrats initially occupied thirteen posts, the social liberals seven; of the 20 members, eight were women and twelve men. Some competencies have been reassigned to the line ministries . The first seven ministers on the following list belonged to the coalition committee, in which important issues between the governing parties are discussed in advance.
On September 2, 2014, the party leader of the social liberals, Vestager, withdrew from her office to move to Brussels as EU Commissioner. The balance of power in the cabinet shifted nominally by fourteen to six in favor of the Social Democrats, seven out of 20 cabinet members were women.
The Thorning-Schmidt II government was the fourth social-liberal coalition in Denmark. Previously, the kingdom was governed by social liberation from 1929 to 1940, 1960 to 1964 and 1994 to 2001.
