Centrum-Demokraterne ( CD ), dan. for Center Democrats , formed a party in Denmark from 1973 to 2008 .

history

The party was founded in 1973 by Erhard Jakobsen and Tom Høyem . The former represented the Social Democrats in the Folketing up to that point . The party was involved in both the center-right government from 1982 to 1988 and the center-left government from 1993 to 1996.

In the 2001 Folketing Election , CD only received 1.8% of the votes and lost its parliamentary representation. In 2005 the party was only able to win 1.0% of the electorate. It also did poorly in the 2005 local elections. A party congress therefore decided on January 26, 2008 to dissolve itself on February 1, 2008.
